About CEREC®
At Rockville Dental Clinic, you will find that our certified CEREC® machine allows us to provide a variety of dental restoration procedures in one visit ​with 3D imaging and design. Such procedures include:

CEREC® restorations do not include any metal, which is safer for your dental health, and it helps preserve the healthy part of your tooth. Your CEREC® restorations will not only look like your natural teeth, but they will feel natural, too. This is the finest dental restorative material available! The best part is that it can all be done in one single appointment with your dentist!

The first step in the CEREC® process will include meeting with your doctor to discuss the details of the procedure. During your procedure, a thin layer of reflective powder is applied onto your tooth. A special camera will take a photo of your tooth. You will no longer have to have an uncomfortable X-ray or a tray full of that old impression goop!

A Computer Aided Design (CAD) will use the photo as an optimal impression. Your doctor will have the ability to see your impression on a 3D image. The restoration piece is then designed on the computer.​

The 3D restoration image, along with precise measurements to match the natural formation of your teeth, is then sent to our milling unit. This is where your new restoration piece is created during your visit.

CEREC® uses a diamond bur and disk to create your restoration piece out of high-tech ceramic. Your new restoration piece is biocompatible and contains no metal. The entire process is done during your visit, and it is minimally invasive making a much more comfortable experience.
